Friday, 5/30 7 PM FRIDAY NIGHT AT THE MEANINGFUL MOVIES: “Film: “U.S. VS
JOHN LENNON” (96 min, David Leaf and John Scheinfeld, 2006), and the

Please join us for an evening to remember John Lennon with two films about his
life. THE U.S. VS JOHN LENNON, a documentary on his work and vision; And, I AM
THE WALRUS, a wonderful short animation that draws out for us the words of John
Lennon as spoken to fourteen year old Jerry Levitan who snuck into his apartment
and persuaded him to do an interview.

Saturday, 5/31 NOON-4 PM WINTER SOLDIER NORTHWEST
Vets from the NW will speak out about their experiences in the Occupations
of Iraq and Afghanistan, followed by a march in the streets. The original Winter
Soldier took place in 1971, featuring first had accounts from Vietnam Veterans
Against the War. The event bolstered resistance within the ranks, and that
dissension brought the war machine to a grinding halt.

Friday, 6/6 7 PM CINDY SHEEHAN: “A REVOLUTION OF VALUES: MOVING FROM A WAR
ECONOMY TO A PEACE ECONOMY”
Cindy Sheehan will speak on "A Revolution of Values: Moving from a War
Economy to a Peace Economy," This well-known “peace mom,” anti-war activist and
Bush antagonist, is running as an Independent for the House of Representatives
in Nancy Pelosi's district in California. Sheehan will address Seattle audiences
about the need to challenge our current leaders in Congress and to move the
country away from its militaristic response to international problems. This
event is sponsored by the Progressive Action Committee PAC (PAC2). Tickets can
be purchased through Brown Paper Tickets on a sliding scale ($10-25). For more

Bothell MoveOn.org holds a vigil protesting the
Iraq War on Sundays from 11 am to 12:30 pm on the corner of Main Street and
Bothell Way NE. Come join us and make your voice heard! Bring a sign if you
have one, though we try to have extras on hand. We know you are out there and
we would love to grow this vigil – currently we are getting between 2-10 people

GREEN LAKE (Updated 12/17/07) Sundays, 2 - 3 p.m., at East Greenlake Way
N near N 63rd St near the crosswalk, Seattle; PEACE VIGIL, Bring the
Troops Home! Please come out to show opposition to the war. This vigil was
revived several months ago, but is still small (as low as one person, as high as
10 people). It's a fun place to make your opinions known, with lots of drivers
expressing diverse opinions and pedestrians stopping to talk. Please join us in
our nonviolent witness; all peaceful people invited, bring signs, leaflets, and
your friends and dogs.

12:30-1:30 PM in Kent at the corner of the Benson Rd. (104th Ave) and the Kent

vigil every Saturday morning at Ballingers & Bothell Ways NE from 11 AM - noon.
Community Meetings start at 10 AM in the Third Place Commons Meeting Room at
Lake Forest Park Town Centre. The monthly vigil for Darfur will happen on the
first Saturday of each month from 11-12 on the east side of the intersection.
